Hi, I’m Mike Donaldson, runner, coach, and father of two. My journey into coaching didn’t start on a track or with elite training, it started in the everyday chaos of family life.
A few years ago, after becoming a parent, I realised I wasn’t showing up as my best self. I was tired, unfit, and missing out on moments with my kids. I decided to take back control of my fitness - not just for races, but for life. Running became my tool for change.
In the span of 3 years, I transformed my performance: knocking 35 minutes off my half marathon time and slashing 50 minutes from my marathon PB. But more importantly, I found consistency, energy, and confidence. That transformation lit a fire in me, not just to keep pushing myself, but to help others do the same.
Mike Donaldson Coaching is about more than pace and distance. It’s about personalised support. I work closely with each client to build a training plan that fits around real life. Whether you’re a parent, a busy professional, or someone who’s never quite found your rhythm with running or fitness in general, I’ll help you find your stride.
We’ll look at more than just your workouts; we’ll talk about sleep, stress, habits, nutrition, and motivation. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to train with intention. You just need the right guidance, the right plan, and someone who genuinely cares about your progress.
